Hello everyone,

I apologize for having to cancel the Meetup last weekend due to bad weather. I guess my good luck with having great weather at the meets finally ran out and the streak has been broken. I had hoped to have one this weekend but with this being Eric's final week of school and him needing to study, we'll delay the Meetup until next weekend.

So the date of the next Meetup: SUNDAY February 12th from 12-2pm at the David Gray dog park in Burnaby – McKay Avenue and Rumble Street. Parking is available on McKay Avenue, on either side of the street. There is an entrance to the dog park on McKay Avenue. Directions to the dog park

I am still having the raffle for a gift basket and 100% of the money raised will be donated to NW Shibas4Life Rescue. A huge thank you to Bosley's Pet Food Plus of Yaletown for donating several of the items for the raffle! There will also be some very cute and unique Shiba items in the gift basket donated by a friend of mine living in Japan. When Eric has a spare moment, he's going to post a photo of the gift basket on our website. Check back in a couple of days. I'd like to have some dog treats to sell at this Meetup to raise more money for rescue so I'll do my best to whip up a batch of liver brownies. I'll be selling them for $3 a bag or two bags for $5. 

One last thing, if you're looking for a unique, handcrafted ID tag for your furry friend(s), check out DoggoneTags on Etsy. I was fortunate enough to win one in an online contest (I seldom win anything!) and I was thrilled with the end result. There are many shapes, styles and types of metal to choose from and you can even have a special, custom ID tag created. The designer, Melissa Gilkey was an absolute pleasure to work with and I couldn't be happier with Koshi's new tag! See photo below.

Hi Everyone. 

We've finally had the streak of good weather on meetup day broken.

Today's meetup – January 29th, 2012. is officially being POSTPONED due to poor weather. 

We'll let you know when we settle on a future date for the meetup. 

Our apologies, but who really wants to stand around in the cold and rain for two hours? Let's aim for a better day.
